[Envy appears to be inside a dimly lit storage shed of some sort. There is ramshackle furniture strewn about. The floor is covered in dirt and grit, except for a spot in the center where Envy is squatting, surrounded by various old tomes opened to reveal complex diagrams and geometrical shapes, many of which should appear familiar to those schooled in alchemy... He appears to be copying one of the pictures by tracing it on the floor with a piece of chalk.]
Okay... So this triangle goes here... and another goes there... And this symbol goes here... [His brows furrow, and he sticks his tongue out between his lips, like a child concentrating intently on drawing a difficult picture. And the array he's busy copying does indeed appear to be rather complex.] There! All finished!
[Looking very self-satisfied indeed, Envy stands up and smiles at his work.] Now, time to start transmuting stuff!
[He kneels once more and presses his palms against the outer edge of the array. Envy stares down at the array, looking expectant, but nothing happens.]
Hey! What gives?! [He raises his palms and slams them against the floor several times.] Come on, come on, come on! Transmute already!
[Snatching up one of the books, Envy scrutinizes the contents, looking from the picture in the book to the drawing on the floor. Those familiar with alchemy--or who just have a keen eye for detail--should be able to notice that there are several mistakes in Envy's drawing.]
Dammit! Why isn't it working?! I drew the array just like in the book!
[Growling in frustration, Envy chucks the book at the wall, where it falls to the floor in a mess of pages.]
