So, you've probably been wondering where I was.

[Kefka is dangling, pinned, between three statues: one angelic diva, one devilish knight, one demonic dancer. His shirt and pants are stained dark red from a nasty-looking stab wound in his stomach. And the ground they're all on is slowly crumbling away to reveal...sky. Uh oh.]It has been a really ( Read more... )

[He's never seen a world from outer space, so it's basically O.O for this little guy. He cannot quite comprehend what just happened, but day-um the earth still remains majestic even though a part of it's burning.]

...Whoa.

[The world is beautiful, isn't it? How glorious: the swirling blues and blacks of the oceans, the verdant forests, the gold plains, the steels and chalky grays of mountains...]

[Ok, it's kind of cliche, but it's still beautiful, right? The stained glass window of the world is spread out before Issun.]

[It's still changing, though. There are still some parts burning, and some are breaking apart, and one place is starting to twist and rise...]

[Still. Just. Watching.]

[Th-those fissures...is that supposed to happen?]

[No, they're not. This isn't natural. The continents should not be twisting and shoving away from each other like magnets. There should not be a long strip of land rising from the ocean, bulging and dipping like a snake shedding it's skin.]

[And on one continent, there is a city of ruins. The camera is coming closer to that, so one can see the broken spires and towers, the melted rocks, the abandoned palace. And the land around it, from miles around, is starting to twist to push the city up...]

[And he's wondering what the gods of that world are thinking when they're remodeling the earth and destroying such an accomplished-looking city. Then he remembers what Kefka said earlier in the video...]

You did this, Jii-san? [SORRY BUT HE LOOKS REALLY OLD TO ISSUN.]

[WELL, HE IS OLD FOR VIDEO GAME STANDARDS. 35 wasn't as old as it is in video games now, but still. And his poor health in general probably doesn't help his looks.]

[He'd answer, but. He has no idea where his magic book camera has gone, and thus isn't there to answer. Fortunately, the book seems to know, and dips it's head...camera...a couple times.]

[And then they fly lower.]

[It swings toward the city. The city's been like that for at least a couple weeks; there's some animals there, and the beginnings of new growth are on some of the buildings. But the rocks the city is on are starting to grow onto the walls...]

[It's because he puts on bird poop clown make-up.]

[Oh, man, he really, really, hopes you have a good reason for doing all that--if a 'good' reason is even applicable. Still, Issun is a bit shaken.]

[Destruction is not always an ultimate end, but a marker for new life. Then again...rocks...starting to grow onto the walls. That can't be natural, either.]

[Hey, that's classy stuff. Classy, darn it!]

[...well. He didn't destroy this city; it was destroyed on accident, when a group of berserked magical creatures attacked it in grief, and he wasn'thappy about it. However, he killed them all when they came back to apologize...so. No.]

[The camera swoops down to watch the city from a distance; it's slowly rising, the buildings changing with the growing stone, and something akin to a tower is starting to form beneath it. And the grass and trees around it are starting to wither...]

[He's not sure if he should still be watching, but this is a place the likes of which he's never seen. He can't look away.]

[And the camera soars, skimming away from the slowly growing tower to where the grass is not dying away, to where it is still green and healthy, and there is a town in the distance. This one is still alive, people clinging to buildings and lying in the streets, a few children huddled together against a wall to watch the tower grow in the distance.]

[People are still shaken, here, but they're alive.]

[It is unlike the previous image of ruin. He was expecting no life at all.]

[They're alive. Even after all of that, life exists.]

["Mama! Mama! Look! Someone's making a mountain!" one of the children yells, on his tiptoes to watch over the wall. His mother hurries over, standing next to him, and bites her lip with worry.]

["They are. But how...?"]

[Making a mountain? He's never heard of that brush technique before.]

["No, no, it's not a mountain! It's a building! Look, it's all pointy on top!"]

["No way! That's a mountain!]

["It's a tower!"]

["Mountain!"]

["Tower!"]

["Tomas, Mariana, stop arguing. We'll find out what it is tomorrow," the mother says, pulling the two arguing children apart.]

[No, no it's definitely...both a mountain and a tower.

At the same time.]
