[Hey community. Bet you missed your sneak peeks into the life of Scotty. (Okay, probably not. Scotty didn't miss it either.) He's in the gym this time, dressed down in a plain black tshirt and shorts, and he's currently doing some weight training. Those who saw both the accident in the engine room and the aftermath might be surprised to see that ( Read more... )

[He sees you holding your arm odd but, he won't mention it. He'll just wonder if you're alright.]

[The com has been filled with weird questions. So he focused on inventing a Magic Making Machine with his bro.

He's doing well...are you?]

[A Magic Making Machine sounds kind of awesome.]

Had a bit of a mishap in engineerin', myself. All better now, though. Mostly.

the only thing i can think of is sburb!
it's a video game that sort of... warps reality, i guess??
you play it with someone and get to move stuff around in their house or mess around with it.
i thought it was pretty normal, but everyone is always telling me that it's weird.

That does sound a bit odd, aye. The closest we'd have t'something like that here would be a virtual reality simulator, but that's no' really the same thing at all, is it?

nope!
because my house is definitely still a little bit ruined right now, haha.
it is like a sim, but with real life.

I wonder how that works... Some combination o' magic an' technology, perhaps?

Should you be straining your arm that much?

It's just workin' on gettin' some strength back into the muscle. [A pause, and then - oh, right, modern medicine isn't quite so modern on other worlds, is it?] The injury itself's already been completely healed.

[Actually, this may be one realm where Reeve's world can match or outpace yours, Scotty!]

Well, I assume you've got medical clearance, so it's none of my business.

How are you feeling?

Bored. Can't really do anything with the engine 'til I can lift properly again.

Better than engine grease? [Oh hi, Jack. You're not absolutely sick of him yet?]

[Never. Especially not since he's had to go back to Cardiff] Well. Now that you mention it...

You could combine the two. Then that'd really be something.

[.....well he'll just have to remember to wear a tshirt and shorts while he's being Torchwood's personal engineer and working on things in the basement, then.]

Right. Well. I'll keep that in mind.

It seems that regeneration technology must be a little different on your world!

I'd explain how it works, but honestly I've not got much idea when it comes t'medical tech.

Well, you see, here regeneration technology involves chambers-- so I was surprised to see you talking to the community while healing! Very strong pain medications are really only used temporarily, while a person is being transported to a hospital, for instance.

Ours're tiny wee handheld devices. But like I said, I've no idea how it works. Small cuts don't hurt, typically, after they've been patched up, but... Well. Something like what happened t'me...
