But we're really the only ones who can actually do anything about it. Without a Persona, you can't enter the TV world, nor can you fight the Shadows. They also protect us from the mind-altering affects of the fog.

It has to do with the case we were all working on last year. The fog was caused by a cosmic entity known only as Ameno-sagiri, the Lord of Fog. He claims to shepherd mankind to its true desires... and he's convinced that what people want is to hide their flaws within the obscuring fog.
