dreams virus|moving canon along!
[It's dark. Only two sources of light exist on this small platform that seems to rest on the sky. One is the light green glow from the floor.
The other is a huge man.
His head looks to be on fire as he stalks towards a broken machine in the middle of the floor. The machine desperately tries to get up, the person inside is injured. You, the observer, start to become adjusted to the light and you feel horror as you recognize it. It's Lagann and the pilot is Simon.]
Simon! [That would be Nia lying next to you on the floor, trying to call out to the boy. It's of little use as the man punches him mercilessly. He and Simon lock fists, each trying to push the other back. The man laughs.]
What's wrong? Has your Spiral Power run out?
[Nia shouts again.] Simon! If your strength comes from the hearts that believe in you, I'll believe in you with every fiber of my being! So, WIN!
[Lagann's arms snap off from the man's crushing fists.
[For the first time, you say something. Your voice is low and full of frustration. You've never seen him like this before.] Get up, damnit! You can't let this bastard win! Think of everybody down there waitin' on you! Think of the people that're waitin' to get up here! You gotta do it! GET UP!
I haven't had this much fun in a long time, brat. [He picks up Simon by the scruff of the neck, preparing to kill him.] RETURN TO THE UNDERGROUND!
[Simon acts quickly, plunging the drill he wears around his neck into the man's chest. His attacker cries out in pain and freezes.]
I'm Simon. The Dai-Gurren Dan's leader, Simon the Digger! If you become a wall that stands in my way, I'll tear open a hole and break through you every time! That's my drill!
[A huge blast of energy sends the taller man flying backwards and you're temporarily blinded by the green light from it.] Whoa! [It takes a few seconds for the smoke to clear, and when it does, Simon is standing, supported by Nia. The man has a huge hole in his chest from the impact. He's slumping, but standing. You'd almost think he's pleased.]
I see. ...to think that your Spiral Power would surpass mine. [He chuckles lamely.] I know that burden. You will come to regret it. [a grin of malevolence] I'll tell you one thing. When one million monkeys fill the earth, the Moon will become Hell's messenger and destroy the Spiral star.
What does that mean?!
[He'll say no more. His grin grows wider, and he falls backward, plunging to the earth thousands of feet below. Nia rushes forward calling out, "Father!", but it's too late. He's gone.]
Goodbye...Father. I will...head towards tomorrow. [Simon comes up behind her, and speaks quietly.]
He did it. HE DID IT! HELL YEAH, I KNEW IT! YES, YES, YE--THE HELL?!
[The platform starts to shake. The tower supporting it is beginning to self-destruct. Nia and Simon panic.
Here, the feed ends.]
