My grandfather passed on the night of the 30th/31st. He had been struggling for some time and had been on a regular regimen of dialysis and oxygen; I never asked the full details, oddly, because it was hard for me to think about him as sick. Seeing as this qualifies as my November 8th (it's that entire midnight shift thing), just wanted to say happy birthday to the old block.

So, as noted, I had recently been away for a time. I took what is likely my first true vacation as a working man. I find that I'm not a firm believer in my own value as an employee.
