I've been away for quite some time again. All apologies, mainly to myself. While there may still be some people watching, this (being a journal) is mostly a means of tracking the stupid little things that catch my attention in my life. I've been lax in recording such things

Good to see you post again, eldest offspring! I have something for Alexis' birthday, which will be winging its way to you by the weekend. I know I've been a bit absent myself, and I can only attribute that to work, overtime, and life in general. It seems that every time I have a little free time with something planned, fate decides I'm going to do otherwise. I'm hoping to get back up that way soon, at least for a visit. I still keep my eyes and ears open for a position back up there, but for the foreseeable future, there's nothing available.
Good to hear about the diet! I need to go back on some type of regimen myself. Having a Total Gym does me no good if it spends all its time propped against the wall in the spare bedroom.
By now you've probably heard about the weather we're supposed to experience over the next 24 to 36 hours. Hopefully, you'll just get the snow, instead of the snow, ice and freezing rain that's predicted and apparently headed our way. Right now, they're calling for 1" to 3" of snow, topped with 1/10 to 1/4 inch of ice.
Speaking of 24, were you as surprised as I was to find out that's Jack's BROTHER?!?! I won't talk about it much here, except to say that they're cranking it up another notch over last year. Now you see why I enjoy 24 so much. It's even better, now that I'm watching it on a wide-screen tv.
Oops, did I forget to tell you about that? I finally broke down the week after Christmas and succumbed to one of Dell's major sales temptations. I was able to get the one I wanted for about $200 less than normally advertised, so I checked the finances, did a little figuring, and bit the bullet. It *will* be paid off by the end of the year, trust me. I have no intention of letting them drag me out for three or four years.
After that is done, I intend to get the MacBook Pro laptop I want, so I can get rid of both desktops and just have the one computer here. This Dell has begun to irritate me more and more, and now that Vista has come out, I know that unless I upgrade, I'm just going to fall further and further behind the curve. Oh, well, Vista is now doing for Windows what Mac OS has been doing for years. *sigh* After what happened when I installed the "new" Internet Destroyer ... I mean, Explorer ... there's no way I'm going to upgrade to Vista any time in the foreseeable future. The new IE almost completely scrambled and shut down my computer, but once I deleted it, everything was back to normal. I'm using Firefox exclusively now, and it's working out much better.
This comment has turned out to be a massive reply. Time to shut up.
See you guys soon! Love to all of you!

Steph's having issues with her PC right now. It won't retain a connection to our router, even after we got a new network card/new router/new software/did full scans of the system. And it's starting to attract dust bunnies at an amazing rate, leading it to have occasional overheating issues if it's not shut down regularly.
