I made a new drink
Yes, yes I did. I was talking with Dani tonight, and mentioned that I made myself a screwdriver or three for dessert. And she, being a huge Doctor Who geek (as am I), replies, "Is it sonic?"
So I decided that I needed to create a "Sonic Screwdriver".
Polish off second large screwdriver, and stagger (only slightly!) downstairs to the kitchen and liquor cabinet.
Cognac #1...no.
Cognac #2...no.
Cognac #3...no.
Tanqueray...no.
Rum...no.
Tequila...no.
Creme de menthe...hell no.
Peach schnapps...still no.
Sake...almost, but no. Yes, I seriously considered it, and may actually have to try it.
Yes, I have an expansive liquor cabinet.
Then, there in the back, I saw a small bottle. One of those little tiny ones, like you get on airplanes. I'd purchased it for a recipe that required like one teaspoon, so still had a little over half a bottle left.
Jim Beam.
Yup.
So:
Large Glass (like not a puny little juice glass...one of the full-sized dinner glasses)
Two fingers of vodka
One finger of Jim Beam
Fill to the top with OJ
It is brilliant. And yummy. So I have made a Sonic Screwdriver. I may actually have to go get a full-sized bottle for later parties. *grin*
