I've been doing a few Fiverr Gigs and it's been a learning expereince. When other more experienced artists and such tell you to "price something for what it's actually worth" one doesn't "get it" until one is more aware of what the worth of their work is really all about.
I have several offers up on Fiverr, but the only one that kept getting tagged (at all) with a regularity was the "four web banners for 5 USD". I did some decent work, but they really didn't give me a good ROI. I've had to buy stock photos that I may never be able to use again? *shrugs* Etc.
However, the side bonus is that I'm producing professional work for my portfolio - even if it's ONLY web banners.
Honestly, I'd rather do more motion graphics work or Flash animation work to strengthen that side of things, but THAT takes a lot more time and is worth more then 5 USD by and far.
I still need money though, and am also hoping that my Illustrative Emergency Comissions pick up more... I have a few, and some good paying ones, but it's not quite enough.
Flynn-sis has even offered to sell one of her pieces, which is very nice of her.
I've linked to my Sketchfest sale page as well.
Not to mention that I do have some prints available through DA.
But very little in the way of takers. See my previous entry for more information.
Makes me wish I hadn't hid my head in the proverbial sand, afraid of "fame" and all the crud that come with it. I'm more uncomfortable about the crud then the reputation.... but I think I'm more afriad of developing a BAD reputation. *sighs*
