Damn high hopes!

I had a meeting with my boss today and she blew me away by telling me she's hoping to send me to Paris for the Sial Food Exhibit scheduled for the end of October.

It's not final yet cause she hasn't received the big bosses' approval, but she's hoping it will happen. I would SO love to go! My food manufacturing client will also be there so it would be a good opportunity to bond with him a bit, but more importantly, I'm just really curious about innovations in food manufacturing! I love this part of my job and I'm constantly looking for new trends, fads and quirks wherever I go!

And the fact that she wants to send me means a lot too.
She didn't have to choose me, but she says I deserve it because of my devotion and hard work.

Ok, now I'm going overboard and my expectations are getting really high. That's not a good thing. Just 4 hours ago this wasn't even something I thought possible, but now because she's mentioned it to me, I won't be able to stop thinking about it.

To be fair, most of the people in my department have never been on a business trip abroad. I've already been to London for a conference and during my vacation in Chicago, my company gave me two work days just for spending one day at the Chicago office, so even if I don't go, I can't complain.

But now I really, really want to go! :)
