this past week--i don't know if it's something i'm eating or what, but i've had the most vivid and bizzarre dreams. the first one wasnt' too strange, about an abandoned puppy, accidentally abandoned by me, i felt completely horrible through the whole thing. then there was a very beautiful one the next night where liz tapp and i went to bethel, nc and were staying in this gorgeous old house with this elderly couple. at one point, though, the husband was going to bring some wine to the porch where we were all sort of lounging, but what he brought (though it was of course still referred to as wine) was cheddar hay.. i don't know. but we chewed on it, and it was the most intense dry cheddar taste you could imagine. but all the colors in this dream were intensified; it was so beautiful. and the couple had a little extra house they were fixing up, and i decided to move there and rent it from them or something.
there was another one about trying to find this dorm room, but i kept getting lost over at erlanger, which had expanded into this enormous spidering of buildings and fences (tall fences!). and there was this outdoor wedding party, and they kept chasing me out as i was trying to go through so that i could go out the building they were in front of on the other side and get to the ever elusive dormroom. they even had this big burly guy throwing people out who weren't with the wedding. and i kept becoming aware that i didn't have a shirt on, throughout that one--not in any excited sort of way though, just as sort of a random observation, oh yeah, i don't have a shirt on again.
then last night, however, i wasn't "in" the dream, but i was watching it, and there were these people, ems maybe, dragging this guy, who was thought dead, down this hallway, which apparently was in a hospital, though everything was dark. then suddenly he starting choking and coughing and is alive, but they find out that he has somehow injested this parasitic, poisonous maple-leaf shaped thing.. kinda like the fluke worms science class but fancier. it was about three/four inches across with blue and yellow pseudopods, and it made this chirping noise. but he had accidentally swallowed it, and it was like some bad alien movie (and at this point i become able to feel everything he's feeling, even though i'm not actually in the dream), and you can see it moving around inside his stomach. he, of course, (and i) becomes somewhat hysterical and is in tremendous pain, you can hear the chirping.. but they tell him very nonchalantly that he'll have to wait till morning--everyone in the hospital is asleep, all the doctors are asleep. so he keeps clutching his stomach and hold the thing inside him as it keeps moving around. it's really awful. and then i realize i can wake up, and i don't think i have ever been quite so relived to wake up either. though when i did, the muscles in my stomach were sore from clenching during the dream.
on another note, though, i bought mi & l'au's debut album--it's very pretty.. some of the lyrics seem kind of childish, but her voice, especially, is amazing. my favorite song is "boxer"--i don't know what to say about it, you just have to hear it..
but it's about my bedtime..
