so possibly the most shitty part about the new position is that we don't have the internet on our computers.. not b/c it was never there, but b/c they took it away... there was also a big meeting (ie female gripe fest) that lasted a good hour and a half our second day there. there are three women supervising the group, and the group consists of a LOT of 19-20ish college flittin' around not working types, mostly female, and two older very opinionated, we-don't-think-youre-qualified-to-supervise-us women.. but latronda and i get to sit by each other and giggle about how ridiculous the whole situation is.. the meeting was about the most retarded thing i've been subjected to probably since working at greenlife. there was actually about twenty minutes of this blonde chicky and one of the supervisor girls going back and forth about why exactly blonde chicky cannot color on her name-tag. and apparently they have these meetings somewhat often. other than that, though, i am getting to work on new things..

i ended up missing all of mi & l'au saturday--there were trains passing, first one going left and as soon as the end was in sight, another one shoots by going right. but pretty david was there.. along with esther's josh and clark's girl whose name i don't remember--assuming either are still connected. oh and this guy who i've 'known' for maybe eight years now.. we've never actually met, but we'd see each other everywhere when i started hanging around chattanooga--he's that stocky black guy w/dreds that worked at greyfriars' for a few years. he always says hi to me and hugs me now, but again, we've never actually met, i dont know his name or anything. but it's always very amusing to run into him. the second band was good, though. but knoxvillians are such very stoic music-listening ones.. there were a couple of head-bobbers but absolutely no swaying about, certainly no dancing, even though everyone was obviously drunk. i just dont understand that.

because of the lack of planning involved in coming to chatt last weekend, i had to come back thursday night again. got to hang out with natasha and ajit and a couple other exchange-peoples at mudpie. was amazing fun. and then stacy came by too. i miss wine night.. my favorite person of the night was akem (that's probably spelled wrong) from sudan. told him about volunteers for peace that rebecca and i have participated with, and he's gonna check them out. i'm really wanting to do that again, too--maybe go towards south america this time.
