Late for work, and, a Castlevania dreamland

I was supposed to be at work at noon today. For some reason, I had it stuck in my mind that I had to be there at 1:00. So imagine my surprise when I am awoken by a call from the assistant manager saying "Hey, whats up. You were going to be here eight minutes ago, right?"

That sucked.

On a lighter note, I have recently (3 hours ago) managed to buy a SEALED Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PSX, at the low low price of $45. The story behind the buy is this: A woman comes into my gamestop from time to time, and she brings her sons with her. Her and her whole family are HUGE gamers, and Castlevania has always had a special place in her heart. Whenever she came in, we would have long and entertaining conversations about various games, but Castlevania: Symphony of the Night kept coming up, time and again, as the best one by far. One of the more recent times one of her sons came in, he told me that they had TWO copies of it. Needless to say, I was all over it, having had looked it up on the internet and talked to my friends about it. I had to have it! I gave him my contact information and hoped that he could talk his mother into selling it. Imagine my surprise when his mother (Nicole) called me and told me "$45 and its yours."

Today, we made the exchange. I was impressed, she had wrapped it in giftwrap, and even gave me a reciept. We talked for like two hours about various games, and after she left time seemed to slow to a crawl. I was TOO jazzed to go home and play it.

Thank you Nicole, you are by far the Coolest Mom Ever, hands down.

I can see large amounts of mobile Castlevania in my future as well, as I managed to purchase a used Castlevania Double Pack for the GBA for $20. The cartridge has both Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow on it, two of the best Castlevania games ever. I cant wait.
