Cost to hike up Mt. Moosilauke on the 19th: $20 to do the official trip, $40 for an extra night's stay in the dorms. Back at UC Davis on the 23rd, $20 for an "urgent care visit" to the student health center, $30 for an X-ray, $15 for a pair of crutches. My trip yesterday was long but tolerable. I had a layover in Las Vegas. The airport there is filled with what appear to be machines for training monkeys to push buttons and pull levers. I watched a couple people just repeatedly push the button to spin the slots, with absolutely no pause or show of emotion regarding the result. I found myself ( Read more... ) -
More stuff from vacation
Le'see, I forgot to mention in my last post that from Chicago to Manchester I had the funniest flight crew that I'd had from Southwest yet. There were a whole lot of jokes and one of them even sang a song at the end that was a parody of Auld Lang Syne.
