I forgot today is a ruddy public holiday in Ireland. Hahaha. What an idiot. Hopefully that means my laptop will arrive either Tuesday or Wednesday. Fingers very much crossed, as it's cutting things a bit close at this point.

Otherwise I'm very much excited for when my mom comes! Exactly one week to go! I have a hell of a lot of cleaning and tidying up to do in the interim, haha.

I was in Osaka for the first time this past weekend to meet up with some Irish JETs for St. Patrick's Day. It was nice to see them all again, but a little strange too. Due to Monday (today) not being a public holiday we had to celebrate on Saturday night (green pints for all!) On Sunday we went to Osaka castle to see the parade - which we missed by half an hour - and then took an amble around the peach/plum grove. GUESS who got sunburned. Yep. Time to break out the factor 50 again.

This coming Wednesday is a public holiday of unknown (to me) origin, so Elise and I have arranged to go and get our hair cut together. Moral support. Then we'll be heading out to a park somewhere to enjoy the good weather we're having (or will hopefully still have, since today is pissy with rain) and meet Jack's friends who are over on holiday from the UK. If I had known what a goddamn snorefest these last two weeks have been I would have booked my mom's tickets for earlier in March. Doing so would also have made it easier on me date-wise, as the end of her trip coincides with both the opening ceremony and the first day of the semester at school. Still not entirely sure how I'm going to wrangle that one. I have a feeling I'm going to have to leave her in Tokyo the Sunday night before she leaves and hope she can make it to the airport on her own in the morning. :(

Oh well! Busy month.
