Back to normal (well as normal as things ever are with me!)

Well, the great flood and water shortage is over. The floods have receced and Severn Trent have got Mythe working again and we can use tap water for everything. I was fornature in being stranded in North Wales for the worst part of the crisis, but still the daily grind of visiting the bottled water hand out points was a bit of a pain, not that I went every day. They gave you loads and what with using bowser water for flushing the loo etc. I never actually managed to get through the daily quota each day. The last couple of days of the tap ban I'd didn't go at all and I have still got LOADS of bottled water in the cupboard at home - quite useful as it is mostly small 500 ml bottles so I have a ready supply (at the moment!) of water to take out with me when I go cycling etc. Some of the big bottle I am adding squash to and taking to work - so much easier than going down two flights of stairs to get your water! Besides which the water machine at work is plumbed into the mains and we have to have an enginer to see to it before we can use it again, just in case there are nasty things in it!!!!

I now have great empthay with those third world countries where they have to walk miles for their fresh water - I was lucky my nearest hand out point was in the old B & Q Site opposite where I live a matter of minutes away. I guess though I will not longer take it for granted when I turn the tap on and will probably be more consicuous of wasting water.

The only thing is that is getting some people'shackes up is that Severn Trent are currently refusing to pay us compenstation for the interuption in our supply. They say it is a happening that is not covered by the rules and was unprecented and therefore no dosh - pity really - I could do with a nice bit of cash at the moment, I'm looking at getting a laptop for when I go travelling around the country and keep on getting out bid on ebay!!!
