Leverage Pairings

Aug 22, 2010 22:15

Okay, so I've got a big old Eliot Spencer crush. I know this. I'll own up to it. I adore his entire attitude and I love how Christian Kane plays him and I even squealed over how his hair curled after he'd been tossed into the water. I felt ridiculous but I totally did it. I can't even deny it. Regardless of my feelings about the rest of the ( Read more... )

I am so with you on Nate/Eliot. I mean, Eliot actually looked at Nate with wonder in his eyes. Eliot is a bad ass, but he's also a big old softie. They both need someone to love who won't try to change them.

Oh, God, I know, right? It's rare to see Eliot giving those kinds of looks but he's really got Nate up there on a pedestal. And I agree--Sophie definitely wants to change Nate instead of just accepting him for who he is.

dude, the hardison/parker/eliot thing is also quite the anvil (the twelve steps job? come on!)

see i can't slash nate or sophie with anyone else, there is too much 'parent' vibe going on there...and no i don't wanna talk about how that makes h/p/e sorta incestuous...blind spots and excuses or something.

personally, i prefer to use leverage as a crossover pairing sort of deal. with white collar and such shows.

Okay, yeah, sure, but the highschool reunion thing? Beat me over the head until I was nearly in a coma. Nate does have a parent vibe going on with a great deal of the team--especially Parker. I see it, too, with Hardison. Eliot, not so much, for me. Eliot, to me, is kind of like that neighbor kid that keeps coming over like a stray cat, where he's not quite sure if he trusts you or not but, hey, you keep feeding him AND you give him a warm place to sleep.

Plus, the little rivalry thing Eliot's got going on with Sophie doesn't help matter for me. XD

But, I do agree that the OT3 is just a bit incestuous, especially when they're squabbling!

I have such a hard time trying to 'sex them up,' though. I have about FOUR failed Leverage fics on my harddrive that I just couldn't finish.

I'm telling you, use them in a crossover. my roommate calls them 'the little black dress of crossovers' which of course left me thinking about Kane in a little black dress...

BUT i get that Eliot thing, he needs Nate less than the rest of them (Parker esp) and Hardison just likes people to see him do his awesome computer shit. Eliot chooses to be there because he's invested in keeping them people safe.

Well personally I love Hardison/Eliot or Hardison/Parker/Eliot. Not so sold on Nate/Eliot myself. There is just something about Nate that is Mentor type thing. And Father/Son or Teacher/Pupil just don't do it for me. I try when my flist writes it, but.....

The only way I could see the Nate/Eliot working (but this might just be me), would be during the time that Nate is protesting how he is the honest man, while Eliot is saying "You keep telling yourself that", in that Eliot sees Nate's less honerable side, and still respects and loves him, while he loathes himself. See I could see a story there where Eliot teaches Nate to love himself, despite his flaws.

Ok, that is just me, isn't it.

=D I really do see the mentor thing--especially with Parker and Hardison. Eliot, not so much. Eliot, I see as more looking up to Nate as a leader kind of thing. Of course, the 'rivalry' that Eliot's got going on with Nate doesn't help my viewing. XD

And I do agree in that I could see Eliot helping Nate to accept himself (as opposed to Sophie who tried to change him). They're not really like an OTP, for me, though. =( They'd be more like a part of the OT5... Or they'd be a side dish to the Nate/Sophie and Eliot/Hardison/Parker...
