In trying to get Gabriel to "discover" his hands, I gave him this teething/rattle/tactile toy someone gave him. I opened his hand and pressed it into his palm and he wrapped his tiny fingers around it - and immediately proceeded to smack himself in the face with it.
"Hands" may be beyond him still, but at least he's learned how to respond to other faces. Carlos has successfully taught Gabriel how to purposefully stick out his tongue at us. *sigh*
And? He no longer farts on me when I change his diaper. Instead, he has discovered the greatest joy a boy can discover - he likes having his pee-pee cleaned. Oh man, does he smile big when we clean his pee-pee. Aaaaand....there's the peak of his maturity level when it comes to that.
