Real thoughts, that are short.

Today I spent the day at Christ Lutheran Church in Hellertown, listening to a lecture on the book of Matthew by Bishop John Spong. I would really, really like to write about it. Bishop Spong is an articulate and powerful speaker, and I loved listening to what he had to say. I would have bought books while I was there, but I didn't have cash (silly me, for not thinking ahead). I did stop in the booksigning line anyway, just to shake his hand and tell him how much I enjoyed the day (I got a hug instead, since I was a bit emotional by the end of his talk and it hadn't gone away by the time I got through the line).

I'm not going to write about it right now because it's just sort of too big. There's too much here right now, and I can't process it into words yet. But it was a very powerful day, and for the second time now I've had to flash-suppress the urge to shout "fuck yeah!" and throw the horns during a church event. At least after the organ piece it would have made sense. After a speech, maybe not so much.

With luck, I won't let this slip away completely (hey, it only took me a year to write about the Therion show in NYC...). But even though I'm worried I'll let that happen... like I said, I just can't write about it now. There is too much.
