Yesterday was fairly good. Football registration was a lot easier *g* Actually, I only got two more for my team, so most of the time it was great (the fact that I was clear on the other side of the room to the Auskick - under 8s - table helped that along quite a bit *g*). I have nothing against little children, but when there are more than a couple of them and they’re all excited… Very scary!
We still don’t have a coach, but the boys are going to get together for a training session on Tuesday afternoon anyway. They really just need to touch base with each other and start some fitness work. I’ll be there and the under 14s coach said he would keep an eye on them as well, so it should be all good!
My sister-in-law and her family were at my house before I got home. Hubby took our nephews for a ride in the prime mover. The four and a half year old was beside himself with excitement when he got back. Apparently, it was just “so cool” *giggles* I’m also now in possession of enough clothes to cover the boys for the sixteen days they’re going to be here. Next time I see them will be on the day they’re dropped off to stay. I don’t know how I’m going to go over that time, because I’ll suddenly have two dependents, who can’t really do anything for themselves and my kids are all very independent (as in they can feed themselves when necessary and wipe their own backsides) *wibbles* It’s been a very long time!
This morning I discovered I’d made a really bad mistake the other week: I wrote the girls’ netball grading day on the calendar wrong *gasp* It was yesterday and I had written it down for the same date next month! I never, ever do stuff like that! Tori called me from school, because all the girls were asking her where she was yesterday. Anyway, I had to phone the netball club president this morning (she’s also coached both my girls and is the one who gets me to coach when she can’t be there) and sorted them out. Thankfully, my girls are well known to the grading committee (Tori because she’s been playing for a few years, made the district umpire squad and coached over the summer; Maddy because she’s exceptional for her age and experience), so they’ve graded the girls on memory *sighs in relief*
Hubby bought a 41 foot trailer for the prime mover today. It was a good price, but it needs a little work - mostly cosmetic, but it does need tires as well *ouch* In the end, it’ll probably cost us half as much again to get it cleaned up, but we’ll have a good trailer for a lot less than buying one in wonderful condition in the first place :)
I managed to see a little of the Oscars today, but I missed Rob presenting *pouts* Good thing they’re replaying it tonight and someone’s already You Tubed! I did see him when they were looking at the nominees for Best Lead Actor, thanks to hubby. I’d wandered out to the kitchen to make a coffee when I heard:
Hubby: Oi, there’s your boy.
Me: *races to the lounge room* Rob!
Hubby: Yeah, the pale, pasty one *rolls eyes*
Me: *melts into a puddle*
It’s a good thing hubby knows I love him, because he might develop a complex otherwise *wink*
I also missed the award for Best Supporting Actor, but I am very happy that Heath Ledger won it. Our news stations have been replaying that moment at every opportunity :)
Big bouncy thank you to
persephone33! Your parcel arrived today! I am going to put that to excellent use, and hubby also says thank you, because it will take the guesswork out of each morning *wink*
