I’ve been working hard all week! I am pleased to report that I’m almost ready to be audited. I’ve only got one area with two sections left to tidy up, and I need hubby’s input to do that, because it’s to do with the maintenance on the prime mover. There’s also a little bit of filing to do *sigh* For the record, I hate filing! While I was digging around all the paperwork, I also reconciled up to the end of December, and I have my paperwork just about ready to report to the tax department for the quarter (meaning I’ve printed the relevant reports and I need to fill in their special form).
A routine is developing, but I think it’ll take us a couple of weeks to get there properly.
I had to go in and see Maddy’s teacher this morning. They’re starting a reading for fun program called RIBBIT. This is the same program that had me telling Tori’s English teacher what he could do with his program last year, so the moment Maddy told me about it I was cringing. Anyway, I spoke to her teacher and the literacy specialist (she happened to wander into the classroom at the right time) at school this morning, and I was very pleased to hear that they’re doing it right (I told them that too!). They’re happy for the kids to read whatever genre they’re comfortable with and there’s no pressure to read genres they’re not interested in - it’s all about reading for fun!
The girl Tori was having trouble with has left her alone, but she has been upsetting other girls and, apparently, they’re all getting a little tired of her *smirk* The problem is all the girls in the group give this girl the power by not calling her on her behavior in front of everyone. Of course, trying to explain that to a group of 13 and 14 year olds is a bit difficult, because they just don’t see their ignoring the situation or whispering behind her back as giving her power.
Mitch had today off and he’s got tomorrow off as well. He doesn’t start fulltime until the week of the 18th February. Today he mowed the backyard and discovered that it’s not all the exciting to have a day off when everyone else (best friend and girlfriend) is at school *smirk* School is going well and he’s actually enjoying the courses he has at high school. The group of teachers that they assign to the year 11 boys are a very enthused group, who are very supportive and creative in the way they teach - exactly what 15 and 16 year old boys need!
Hubby is working tomorrow *thank god* I would have had to dispose of him if I had to put up with one more day of him sneaking up behind me to watch me work.
On a personal front, I’m utterly exhausted. I haven’t written anything, because even when I stop working at night I’m too tired to even contemplate making sense of a plot. Hopefully I’ll have this paperwork completely ready by… let’s aim for Tuesday night, shall we? We have junior football registration on Saturday *oh yay* I could have done with another month off from the club, but I guess the change of scenery will be good for me :/
