Busy, busy, busy…

Thursday I finally found a new camera *whee* I also found new pillows for the entire family, a new sandwich press, and a new set of scales (they remember stuff, so we are not friends *frowns*).

Friday was a fairly quiet day until the kids came home from school. At that moment I had to swing into action, because Maddy was staying at her best friend’s house for the night and Mitch decided that his best friend should spend the night at our house, then Mitch’s best friend’s mum phoned me (while I was talking to Maddy’s best friend’s mum) in a panic, because her computer just came down with a nasty virus - could I come over and fix it, please.

On the way home from dropping Maddy off I dropped into Mitch’s best friend’s house. Oh what a mess! She has Limewire on the computer (or did until I saw it) and her son was downloading music that afternoon, then all these alerts started popping up. Most of the alerts she was getting were bogus, but she had been infected with Vundo *cringes* We worked on it until midnight to no avail.

Saturday we went to a 40th birthday party for an old friend of ours. She’s been through two really bad marriages (her last husband wouldn’t let her see any of her friends, so we’ve been out of contact for a few years). Anyway, now she has a really nice bloke (hubby has known him for as long as he’s been driving trucks and actually used to drink with him at the local pub). Apparently, he’d been teasing her about her birthday present, saying that the dishwasher she’s getting will be installed on Tuesday. While a dishwasher is nice, she didn’t want one for her 40th, because it’s a tool and tools shouldn’t be given as gifts for birthdays - I understand this! So, the cake comes out and she makes a little speech thanking everyone for coming, then he gets up there and says he has something to say as well… He got down on one knee with a little jeweler’s box in his hand and asked her to marry him *squee* I’ve never seen my friend speechless, but this rendered her unable to do anything more than gasp in shock *giggles* He had to ask her three times to actually get a ‘yes’!

Sunday, Hubby went to the WAFL Grand final (Aussie Rules). One of our friends bought three private boxes and took a whole group of the boys to the final. They had a ball! It wasn’t the best day for football though; a freak storm with mini tornadoes and gale force winds scared the hell out of us for hours. We lost our power for a few hours, which was annoying. After our power was restored I headed over to Mitch’s best friend’s house to see if I could do any more for their computer. It was a fruitless effort *sigh* I ended up telling her that it has to be reformatted and the best thing she could do was get anything she wants to keep off before taking it to someone. The virus has opened up a big hole in her security and everything is just flooding in now.

Today we went to see our accountant. The business registration will be set up tomorrow and once that’s through we can take it from there. Hubby took me to lunch at one of the trendy beachfront pubs (he’s always wanted to go there, but it’s well out of our area) and then he came home and started looking at more trucks.

Tomorrow I have another dental appointment *pouts* It shouldn’t be as bad as last time (only fillings this time), but I’m sure you can all understand how much I’m not looking forward to it. Luckily, I’m feeling a lot better. I finally worked out that the medication I was on wasn’t doing me any favors in the ‘feeling good’ department. Since finishing the meds I feel a lot better *g*

My car is also booked in to get some work done tomorrow, which is going to be terribly inconvenient, but it has to be done sometime. Hubby is home tomorrow, so he’s going to have to put his chauffeur’s hat on for me :)

On Wednesday I have Maddy's sports carnival *must work the new camera out before then* and a meeting at the high school for Mitch's US trip next year.
