It's a tradition in the winter time, where a wren is hunted, killed and put on a pole and decorated. The hunters then go around town singing and collecting donations and they give a feather from the bird for luck.

Well, there's the Yule log, the tree, the hunting of the wren, wassailing, and on Christmas eve, the town gathers at the pub for dancing and singing and things.

In the morning we get oranges and small gifts. Sometimes toys if mom and dad can afford it, but it's usually new clothes or shoes. Either way, it's very exciting.

Jul... Yule... Christmas. It seems these are different names for a similar tradition. My world called it Christmas, but the giftgiving and the songs were much the same.
