Having spent some really good times both at Chiron Beta Prime and FireKitten's Castle playing board games with people of fun minds, I have been puzzling over ways in which to repeat the experience more often.(bearing in mind I live alone and therefore require a group of people to join me in this venture)
I thought I had hit upon a solution when I planned to start a Board Games group at the local U3A and so to that end I started investigating the kinds of games I had in mind:-
Carcasonne, The House on the Hill, Elder Signs, Arkham Horror, Castle Panic etc etc. (I wasnt thinking of the fuddy dudy old fashioned games, you understand)
Problem:- All these games are extremely expensive. (I dont know how much I thought they would cost, but it certanly wasnt in the £40 - 90 each bracket) At those prices I might as well drive down to my friends once a month to play!!!!
Problem 2:- I hadnt thought about how long they might take to play (normal U3A sessions are 2hours max).
Back to the drawing board I suppose. Anyone got any other ideas how this might be achievable?
