Ok guys!! I'm getting a BIT personal with you all!
ok so as some of you know, I have an over-active bladder (you know those stupid "gotta go right now!!" commercials) which basically means when I have to go to the bathroom, I have to go RIGHT AWAY, I can't hold it for awhile like everyone else.I had this problem since i was like 7, and I have basically taken every kinda pill you can think of, but the problem with pills is if you take them long enough, your body gets use to it and it doesn't work anymore. So it's still a rather annoying problem!
So my doctor sent me a letter about this seminar for some new kinda treatment! Here I am thinking it's gonna be some new pill, or maybe even like therapy or a shot or something. So what is it you ask?
A pacemaker!! They want to treat the problem by putting what is basically a pacemaker inside me to regulate my bladder! An actual pacemaker sends little shocks (vibrations) to your heart to keep it going, well this thing sends little shocks to your bladder! Crazy yes?
The whole thing is about 2 inchs by about 3inchs (not very big) and they impant it in you through very minor surgery. It comes with a machine that allows you to set it to differnt vibration settings to see what works best. They also allow you to "test-drive" the whole thing with a temporary one that you can test out and see how it works.
I think I want to at least test-drive it. There was a lady there that got it done and said she had immediate results and highly reccomends it! The only thing that scares me is that you will be awake during surgery! They all said you will be completely out of it and barely concious...but still!!
So were going to make a appointment and learn more about it. I have to admit, the thought of never having to worry about having an "accident" again really sounds good to me!!
