So here we are, the last day of July already.
Yesterday was what would have been my 11 year wedding anniversary. It didn't bother me as much as it did last year. I actually spent it with my Mom who came out to visit. She arrived around 10am and we sat outside and yapped for a while. Then we took off to my work so that Tho (pronounced Tah) could trim up my hair and do that thing he does so I walk out of there looking hot. ;) My Mom wants to take him with us on our next trip to Las Vegas just to do our hair every day. LOL Seriously, he rocks at what he does. Jamie was in his usual down mood. He's so not himself lately. I miss the old Jamie that was much more full of life. I hate standing by watching him slowly drown but sometimes that's the best thing we can do fo someone we care about. It's the only way he'll find his own way. He's strong so I know he'll do it in time.
After hair, we thought we'd go eat at Chi Chi's. Wasn't open yet. Neither was Outback. We ended up at the tried and true Max and Erma's where we both enjoyed some very yummy salads and fruit smoothies. Then it was off to Meijer to pick up a few things including a carpet cleaner for me. Yay! My carpet smells wonderful now and not like dog pee. This is good. Mom was so amazingly helpful. She helped with the carpet and then she helped me with my backyard. All the overly hot weather had made weed pulling nonexistant. I just wasn't willing to risk heat stroke or something just so I could yank out some weeds much as I love working in the yard. It was a pleasant day so we actually had fun.
For dinner we broiled up steaks. Yeah, I ate a steak. I haven't had one since I was a kid. I had given up red meat but I've been craving steak since this past December. I tried other sources of protein, thinking that must be what I really want. Didn't help. I just wanted steak. The problem is, now I want more steak! Although, as suspected, my stomach isn't feeling so great today. Oddly enough I feel hungry and a little nauseated at the same time.
Mom left this morning. Her visit seemed way too short. Well, it was, really. She only stayed 24 hours. She's always afraid of overstaying her welcome. I'll have to make sure she knows she's welcome more than one night next time.
The best news is that I finally got a new washer today! Mine had been broken for over 2 months. I finally got upset about it this past week. I don't usually go the "squeeky wheel" route but sometimes, when you've tried everything else, that's the only way to go.
Cripe, I can still smell steak in my house. Must resist urge to buy more steak. Steak bad. Gah.
