Confession time...
I am a terrible Christmas/birthday shopper.
I have pretty much done all of Nate's birthday/Christmas shopping, with the exception of two things. Of the things that I've gotten him... yeah, he's played with almost all of 'em already. Oops. I just get so excited about them, and how much he's going to enjoy them, and I just can't help it. 'Sides, how am I supposed to hide this? (Yeah, he's totally climbing all over it right now...) In my favor, he only plays with them for a little bit, and then I put them away, so by the time his birthday/Christmas gets here, they'll be fresh and new all over again. But still. Bad Mom.
This week has been pretty okay, I guess. I've been in kind of a funk, and haven't gotten much done, and Nate and I have both had sniffly colds. Nate has also been emphatically anti-nap this week, until yesterday. This makes me cranky and a little edgy. It's weeks like this that realize how much I take naptime for granted.
But on the bright side, Austin got his report card, and he made Honor Roll for the first time since he's been at ODC!!!!!! YAY!!! We're really proud of him for that. It's kind of a "told you so" thing, because he's been really close a lot of times, but has been very pessimistic about it ("I'll NEVER get Honor Roll blah blah"), but we kept telling him that he could do it.
Nate's getting very word-y. Cat, fish, Mama, Dada, more, etc. He's also learning some sign language. He knows the sign for nursing, and the sign for more. It's awesome to see him learning to communicate.
Another thing that makes it a good week is that I got a killer deal on a wrap I've been worshiping from afar for ages. It'll be here in a few days. 'Til then, I stalk the mailman.
Best thing, though, about this week- Thanksgiving is NEXT week! We're heading out on Wednesday to my parents' house at SML. I'm really excited about seeing Mom and Dad and the dogses.
