In the year 20XX the Internet finally was made 3D (<-- that read awkwardly), with each user having his (their?) own avatar. The website GameFAQs, devoted to hosting walkthroughs and active messages boards for almost every game made, was no exception, and users also could create avatars to explore the now 3D world of GameFAQs. Early in its history a user who was later banned hacked GF and made it possible for certain users to have properties of the new 3D RPG characters from other websites. Mass chaos ensued while these select users attacked others, deleting many accounts. CjayC, Administrator of GameFAQs, banned the user who started it, but enough users had these powers that he could not get (ban/destroy?) them all. So a mod for GF occurred, giving all users attributes of their choices, the only catch was that their power was based on their karma. Select boards were designed for fighting, and fighting outside these boards was a bannable offense. In order to combat these new users, moderators were given powers too, enough to take on any user on GameFAQs (<-- kind of useless). Everything was fine until the first attack occurred.
Part 1 - Welcome to GameFAQs
Seto opened her eyes slowly. Around her, images formed. People seemed to pop in from nowhere. Sounds of chatting and loud noises slowly filled Seto’s ears. They were familiar to her; after all, she had logged onto PotD countless times before.
“Hey Seto, is he here yet?” asked a voice behind her.
Seto turned around to see a man wearing black robes. Only his left hand was visible, and the right one was hidden inside his robes. The man had brown hair and a pair of glasses on his face. He was known as Yugi Mutou.
“No, not yet Yugi. Maybe he got lost during the registration process?” suggested Seto.
Seto was a big great contrast to Yugi in many ways. Besides being female, she wore bright red robes from her neck all the way down to her feet. She had a red hood, but was wearing it down. She had bright blue eyes, and long, red hair that flowed down her back. In her hands she held a simple wooden rod.
“I don’t want to wait for him long. You know I don’t like being around PotD that long. LUE is better in every way.” complained Yugi.
“So you say. I still haven’t seen much to back up this claim” yawned Seto.
“Hey Seto” “Seto, sup?” yelled out two passing voices.
“Hello Donnie. Hello Devil Wolf” said Seto, waving her hand.
“Hmmp, here he comes now” grumped Yugi.
A very lost-looking boy was stumbling towards him. All he was wearing was a pair of sweat pants, shoes, and socks. He had brown hair, with a bandanna tied around his head. Yugi waved him over to them.
“Haha, what are you suppose to be? A male exotic dancer?” laughed Yugi.
“I am a Monk, stupid. A master of the fists, and the owner of a very tough body” exclaimed the man.
“Also a wimp when it comes to magic. Can’t use it, can’t protect against it. A very one-horse show, huh? Anyways, what name did you pick for yourself?” asked Seto.
“Kyi, of course. Did you expect anything else?” laughed Kyi.
“I guess not. Anyways, follow us. I can give you the grand tour right now.” Said Seto.

They were walking through what looked like a park, with green fields and walkways everywhere. People seemed to be everywhere, engrossed in conversation. As they walked, people waved at them.
“Hey Fox, how’s it going? Ducky Dude, how are you? Haven’t seen you in a while! Hey Oreon…Oreon…Oreon, you can stop hugging me now…OREON, LET GO OF MY ASS!” yelled Seto, slapping Oreon in the face.
“Kyi, this area, or board, is called PotD. Named originally after the Poll of the Day, a past feature of the text-based GameFAQs site, PotD is a social board now. They never removed it due to the huge community of users on it. This is the board I reside on mostly.” stated Kiaba.
“Yugi mentioned something about this being a MMORPG, right? When can I fight someone” asked Kyi.
“Hold on Kyii!” exclaimed Yugi. “This site isn’t a traditional MMORPG. It was actually never intended to be a MMORPG. When the administrator of the site, CJayC, changed the site’s interface to 3D, the site was hacked, and a mod came out for it. The hax gave everyone a set HP and stats, and people with the mod were allowed to use attacks on them. When the users HP reached 0, their accounts were closed. Obviously, CJayC did not like this very much, and tried to put a stop to this. Unfortunately, the mod spread so fast that it was impossible to ban everyone using it. So it was integrated into the site, giving more power to those who have been active the longest, aka those with the most Karma.”
“But even with that, PvP are only allowed in certain areas of the site” said Seto. “When the site was changed, these areas were put in place. Any fighting outside these areas are dealt with by the moderators. They are users that have massive amounts of power, more than any normal user. It is their job to drain users who violate the TOS of the site of their entire HP, and then put them in Purgatory, the jail of GameFAQs, where they will be tried and sentenced. They stop all illegal fighting on the site.”
“Ok. Can we go to one of these sites?” asked Kyi.
“We could, but you would have to fight other newbies. You are too weak to truly fight someone” laughed Yugi.
“Do you guys fight a lot?” asked Kyi.
“I don’t fight a lot” said Seto. “Even though I have been on the site a lot, I was inactive for a while, and do not have a lot of karma.”
“Even though I joined later than Seto, I have more karma. But I don’t like fighting, and rather socialize instead. Or lurk” said Yugi.
“But we can show you the fighting boards” smiled Seto, slipping her hair back.
“Yeah” said Yugi. “Right this-“
The sound of an explosion interrupted their conversation.
