so...highlights of the past half month
a cappella is now known as Seven's Not Enough. I love it. Dreams is in the wings to be finished (when everyone is together) and SGH and Fields are going to be started soon enough. im pumped.
Halloween was fun. i was a fan of my renaissance/medieval getup, thank you Matthew my brother for having such cool accessories for me to play with. and that Kaitlynn and Sarah were dressed in renaissance style made it better, though we didnt quite match (they were a bit too much "pretty renaissance lady" not enough "shadowy medieval assassin", but who can blame them?).
i was generally impressed with the costume showing for the grade, definitely some good stuff, genuinely funny things, and fewer genuinely offensive ones, though there was still plenty of skank (though perhaps less than in past years, yay us)
working in a children's dept. of a library on Halloween is really quiet. awkwardly quiet. torturous perhaps. thank god Captain America could save the medieval man from the silence.
my only regret was that i don't actually have a picture of me, with bracers exposed and armed with sword or staff or spear or likewise unfriendly weaponry. that could have been a nice picture
Body Worlds was great. spending a day chilling with friends at the Science Museum is just a nice recipe for fun. mostly chilled with Sarah and Kelly, and throw some Panek, Geissler, Bill Light, Borghi and Scanlon, Renee, Mauer (*strangles*), and it was good.
my sister was home for a few days, and that was nice to see her again.
she did happen to get into a bit of a scrape in our non-stick shift car though, so it looks like itll be hard for me to put in hours behind the wheel, and harder for me to take the test to finally get my license, though the damage isnt bad, just a delay.
Thoroughly Modern Millie is coming along, never as well as it should be, but i feel as though better than it has been in past years, relatively speaking. the play opens Thanksgiving Weekend and runs the weekend after (24th, 25th, 1st, 2nd). everyone should be there.
and i've just been enjoying the past couple weeks of rehearsal more. its been great.
i've been to a couple more football games, and thats been fun. last time i hung around with Matt Bailey-Adams and LaValley, and i've decided that they are pretty cool sophomore friends of mine.
Spookapella was amazing. Duwende was great, Moosebutter was insane, and Harmonatryx was pretty good too. and Lavalley got felt up by Harmonatryx, fun stuff.
As a follow up to last entry, im now going to be inducted into the National Honors Society...joys...service project ideas anyone? i really do wish that my reasons for not wanting to join the Society were able to be explained to my mom, and that if explained, they would sound reasonable to her. but alas, i sought to avoid the attacks from her, and now im stuck. gah.
im happy to say that my SAT score for this past October brought a generous 90 pt. increase in my reading score :) though when brought to the full 2400 score, my score dropped by 10 pts, so do the math (it was the writing section that gave (though my essay was better, by a little bit)).
i spent a few hours at crew a couple Saturdays back. Kelley, Sarah and I beasted at wallpapering our tri-lons. that was fun. im hoping to get back there this weekend.
anyways, im definitely ready for the stress drama of the end of this first term of senior year to end. this week is almost over, and then things will be nicer, though i wish i had pushed myself harder this term, for my own personal desire, but then again, im enjoying the concept of actually sort of enjoying school, enjoying my classes and teachers, and learning stuff, like A+ Certification, just for fun, even though its hard. novel concept, learning for the sake of genuine interest. its a pity we don't get the opportunity more often.
anyways, its late, and i have it in mind to have a little bit more sleep than i have been getting recently.
let us see where my dreams take me. if only the subconscious could be asked to clarify whatever it is that it thinks about while it reigns the mind.
