eh?!?! *pokes the phone*
ok...here's a little story. Lat night at about 5 am. while i'm still sleeping, i'm awaken by what sounds like a broken phone ring. like...bits and pieces of a ring tone.
At first I thought I dreamt it, but i really did hear it even as a lay there awake for a second...scared shitless of course, cause there's not a thing in the house that makes that sound, let alone in my room.
I looked at my little stuffed Kreagor, wondering if THAT made the sound. Maybe there's some little sound effect...thing inside it. I was pretty sure it wasn't him though.
I lay there for a bit, totally shocked and scared before finally looking arund the room and waiting for the sound again. a few minutes pass and there's nothing, so I manage to fall asleep again very soon.
Later on in the day, I wake up and try again to figure out what the noise was.
Now for reasons unknown, my eyes go right to the phone, which hasn't worked in over a year. I think "...nah...eh?" and pick up the phone. Dial tone...!
I try calling a number...it rings...! The phone is back on! I have no idea why. No one paid the bill. Must be a mistake.
The rest of the day is a madhouse, trying to get online. first the modem doesn't work, because files are missing, so my mom agrees to go out and get me a cheap 30 dollar modem....better than 20 dollars eh? Of course I will pay her back on my first check.
When I get the modem in the computer, I try the AOL disk and it STILL doesn't work. I can make no kind of accounts, new or existing.
Here's the fun part. After over an hour of tinkering and experimenting, I get into this other persons AOL account. You can say hack, go on *grins* I hacked into his account and changed the password. This is survival... *evil grins*
Only I was in a booting fight with him a few times before I managed to change the password. Two people can't be logged onto the same account at the same time.
With that all over though. I HAVE a phone and I HAVE the net back! Only I'm truly expecting the phone to be shut off very soon, as this is apparently a mistake. and when these people find out that the phone was hooked up at the wrong house, they WILL see to correct it.
For now though, i'm free to download stuff!
I can't get over the oddness of it though... Why was the stuffed kreagor the first thing I saw and thought about when waking up to this weird sound? And why did i just automatically get the thought in my mind that my phone might work now...?
*smiles a bit* maybe someone's trying to help me...
