So my sister Javi responded to me last night. We talked for a bit. We also talked off and on all day today. It's still a struggle to talk to her because I have to translate everything I want to say and then translate what she says to me back, but it's becoming surprisingly easier, either from the computer or my phone.
I have learned the following:
-She found out about me only recently, when she decided to ask "our" father if she had any siblings (she had suspicions, just as I did)
-She has no other siblings, so she was raised as an only child
-She does not have a great relationship with "our" father, to the point that she has never even met the rest of his family, like all the cousins we have
-Though I found pictures on her Facebook of New York and New Jersey, she claims to have never left Chile.
-Her birthday was recent, September 22nd, to be exact.
-She plays the piano and loves theatre, so much so she's going to major in theatre when she goes to college
-She loves horses a lot and use to ride every summer when she was younger. She's super jealous that my mother-in-law raises miniature horses
-She loved the Jonas Brothers like I loved Backstreet Boys when we were the same age (preteens)
-She doesn't like scary movies at all (booooo), but she loves to read (yay!)
-She has never seen any of the Indiana Jones movies (boo), but is open to watching what I recommend her, provided it's on Netflix (yay!) like FIREFLY
-She told me she is looking to me to her guide on books and movies to read and watch *gush*
-I am planting the idea of her trying to study abroad here at UF, assuming it's possible for her
Overall, it's been very exciting catching up with her!
