Vintage Fabric Thread Chart
We define "thread", "skein", and "hank" as follows:
-1 thread = 1.5 yds
-1 skein=80 threads = 120 yds
-1 hank=7 skeins = 840 yds
A cotton "yarn" is an individually spun strand. They are numbered by density: No. X "yarn" has X hanks per pound avoirdupois
