After yesterday's foaming-at-the-mouth post about bigoted assholes who won't take responsibility for their own homophobia and won't examine it either ... here's a totally boring entry about what I made for dinner!
So I made
this recipe a while back. Basically, it's MexicanTaco Bell-style "pizzas" where the crust is flattened pop biscuits. I replaced the ground beef with a faux-ground-beef substitute. They came out tasty, but a little dry and bland in my opinion.
What can I say, I'm hard to please as far as bread products are concerned. I get bored with them very easily.
Teh Girlfriend requested that I make it again, so I agreed ... but this time, there were Changes. Instead of pop biscuits, I used Trader Joe's frozen garlic naan for the crusts. And thanks to teh girlfriend being creative at the grocery store, the cheese was their Smoked Shredded Cheese blend.
Those two substitutions took those little pizza things from "eh" to "OMNOMNOM A++ WOULD NOM AGAIN!!"
I heart me some Trader Joe's. There's few meals that can't be improved by a little creativity at the Joe's.
