Bonus computer update
According to deusinnomen, the motherboard/CPU is overheating. Isn't this problem what I BOUGHT this damn motherboard/CPU to correct in the first place? ...I'm about ready to chuck the whole thing and buy a new one. Hell, I almost have, but if I were intending to buy a new computer I'd have picked up a PCI-E vidcard instead of the AGP I did get, which is a solidly good AGP card but I'm told they're going the way of the Betamax.
Meh.
Had dinner with Noel, Kat and Nathan last night at Maggiano's (at Woodfield). The stuffed chicken is very tasty. I was amused, Kat and Nathan were running late (hey, he flew southwest, you get what you pay for). We pushed the resv back half an hour, and still ended up sitting down to order appetizers before they arrived. I'd also chosen my meal before they arrived, but Kat ordered first... and picked the same thing I'd chosen. Great minds think alike. :) We both agreed that the garlic potatoes weren't very garlicky, though Kat thinks they may just have been overwhelmed by the garlic bread we had as one of our appetizers.
We've done most of the work for installing the Kitty Gate Mark III, but we had to wait for some epoxy to dry, so tonight we get to finish the install and find out if we're brilliant, or idiots. :) Either way the cats are coming over tonight, though they are going to be confined to the laundry room for a day or two (apparently this is NOT considered cruelty to animals, according to the cat people...). Then we finish packing for GenCon. Hopefully we have time for everything, we leave tomorrow early afternoon. :)
