OK, the living room has been Boraxed [yes, I just turned it into a verb]. I locked the kitties upstairs for a couple of hours (much to their consternation) to keep them away from the dust and from collecting it in their paws. The house is pretty much clean at this point. There are still islands of clutter, but it is clean. We'll have to dust soon to clear up the residual Borax that has settled on the furniture. To help control the flea population,
ealdthryth has spread towels on the couch. The cats lay on the cushions and perch on the back of the sofa, so those are prime spots for flea eggs to be deposited. By washing the towels every couple of days, we can eliminate future generations of fleas.
I know you are sick of reading about our flea issues, but you have no idea how sick we are of having to live with the dratted things....
Of Movies and Such
Spielburg said they intended to style it as a B-movie, and was successful. At least it was a B+. I think I would have been happier if they had tried for Indiana Jones and the Lost Kingdom of Atlantis instead.
ealdthryth seemed to be rather bored with the whole spectacle (as evidenced by quips and quotes emanating from MyLiveFaceDiaryRSS). It wasn't a great film, but it was watchable (unlike the Invisible Boy which we shut off before too long).
However, one of the blogs that she follows had a trailer (9 minutes!!!) from a November offering of the AuncientMovieChannel, and it made us both perk up attentively. Ian McKellen in a remake(?)/new movie based on The Prisoner. There are just enough elements to pay homage to the original series, but it looks like the script will take us in a very different direction. They even brought back "Rover". Heh. It isn't enough to convince us of the worth of reconnecting to cable television, though.
Couch Kitty Fu
Over the last couple of days, Josie has adopted the back of the couch as her comfy spot. I cleared the pillows off of the couch (I thoroughly vacuumed them then stored them in a Space Bag), so now there is plenty of lounging room for cats. It was rather comforting to work from home, seated on the couch, with a plush sleepy kitty purring next to my head. AElfgifu sat on the other end of the couch for a while, and then Ignatius took his turn snoozing on the couch. Kiera was visible only briefly before she hid somewhere.
MMMMMM! Plush kitty endorphins!
