Thar's Yer Problem!
ealdthryth reports that Charter sent two technicians to figure out the problem with our Internet connectivity. They brought a new modem, and were marginally disappointed that ealdthryth had already had a new one. In classic Well thar's yer problem, lady fashion, they determined that the culprit behind our lack of speed or ability to connect consistently to the Internet was a mere splitter (presumably in the crawlspace under the house).
Charter's dismissal from our home has received a temporarily reprieve pending this week's performance. I was able to get onto the Internet last night, and the speed seemed rather good--much better than it has been. I was able to get a preliminary University schedule together and sent off to theblueleader for review. If connectivity remains good, I can get the schedule put online this week.
University Resuscitated
OK, as previously noted, I was able to get online last night and I've ironed out a preliminary schedule. Over 100 classes are in the list, and I've got a double handful of reserve classes. There were one or two people I wasn't able to get on the schedule at all owing to site restrictions and/or time and space available. We do not have the use of the gymnasium, and some of the hands-on classes just weren't feasible with the facilities at hand.
The next step for me is to check on the availability of requested equipment. So many of us have easy access to computer projection equipment at work that we center our presentations around them. Unfortunately, we inconveniently forget that not all the school systems have upgraded their technology (nor are they always willing to let us use them even if they have!) I've pondered getting a projector for myself (or even for University), but they are prohibitively expensive.

ealdthryth did not fall for AElfgifu's trap last night. AElf' nermalled on the living room floor, attempting to appear cute and pettable. When ealdthryth moved towards her, AElf' made the mistake of preparing to swat at the hand reaching out. My sweetie wisely stopped short of her attempt at indulging in plush kitty endorphins. She did however get revenge later. AElf' got her clasws clipped--probably to everyone's relief.
Belated Birthday
Even though she isn't on LJ to my awareness, I just wanted to wish my baby sister happy birthday.
