So I'm finally in Colorado. After like...a week. It takes 2 and a half days to get here normally. So my Dad, his wife, and me, along with luggage for a week for them, and luggage for me two months all piled into Icarus the Great and had 2000 miles of bonding.
So we left North Carolina and drove to Knoxville, slightly out of the way, with the intention to pick up/test drive some vehicle that my father had had transferred through carmax. We get there about noon. The truck has not brought said vehicle of interest. So we wander. Around. And Around. Through bookstore type places and shopping areas in which we can't buy stuff because there's no room in the car. Because three people and stuff do not fit in little blue cars. But apparently, we have to go buy shoes for my stepmother for some business dinner thing in ALbuquerque. A minor note. Target is everywhere. Anyhow, to cut a long boring thing short. at about 4:00 the vehicle showed up. At about 9:00pm we left...and got to nashville around midnight. Nashville is only a six hour drive from Hayesville.
Anyhow, the trip went better from there and we got to Albuquerque, where my dad had to work. So Kathy and I wandered around the ghetto of the city and were mildly concerned. And the next day we went to see and Ice Cave in the desert, which was cool.
Then I drove us up here and forced the tall people to ride like pretzels. And there were 'dangerous winds' and small sandstorms. When I finally get to the house, the power's out. And the house is covered in the evil black dust of death. Which now I'm mired in cleaning.
