Today I leaned into the wind as it roared down University and it would have probably held me up. Then it reversed direction and I was suddenly running down the sidewalk as it pushed me forward. That's the way to get to class on time (not that I have class on Friday...).
At work this morning I also got to shoot a color top coat (white with 2 layers of pearl) and a clear coat for the first time! This is really touchy stuff, and it was cool that Steve was in today to teach me. Apparently white is the hardest color to prevent from running, and I got pretty darn close in a couple spots, but fortunately the paint all held together and made a nice smooth surface. There are so many things I want to do with this kind of material... too bad it's so expensive. :( I think it would be hilarious to paint a ceramic dish set with motorcycle body paint - that would make a completely different surface than glaze, and I think it would be really interesting! I also want to use the glass beading booth and sandblast a few vases into near oblivion and then fire them, see how that looks. XD
Ah yes, all the stuff I can do while in the safety net of the university, and don't have to rely on what I do to earn a living. (That's currently what the bookstore is for!).
