Knew I'd Forget Something!
Thank God for cleaning out an inbox! (except that I still have a depressing amount of unread fanfic alerts molding in there... *ahem*)
ithilmenel asked me some questions. If any of you want me to ask you five random questions as well, please, feel free. I can't make any promises that I won't ask what your favourite ice cream flavour is, though. But yes, you want questions, you drop a comment. :)
1. If you were trapped on a deserted island and could only bring three things (there is water, shelter and food) what would it be and why?
A knife. A GOOD knife. A dog for companionship and protection. Annnnnnnnd.... my hair brush. (it was either that or a case of shampoo or a case of sunscreen. But from watching Man Versus Wild, I know how to make my own sunscreen. :D)
2. Why is Jack O'Neill so awesome? Describe in detail, please.
Gack. Wow. Nice question. Well, I think it starts out with the fact that I've been madly in love with Richard Dean Anderson since I was too little to stay up to watch MacGyver. *grumble grumble* Then, as to the character himself... He is awesomeness. Personified. I adore his sarcasm and how difficult he makes the lives of his superiors. And I love the fact that that is actually REIGNED IN, as evidenced in Upgrades, when they weren't able to control their impulses. Waaaaaaaaait... Damnit, there shoulda been S/J kissage! I like that he plays dumb, but is actually pretty damned smart. I love how he is with kids. And the fact that he stargazes. And that dogs are his favorite people. Jack is just a simple guy's guy and that's what I love about him.
(omg, that was long. But you asked for it! *shakes finger*)
3. What drew you to the X-files and what made you stay?
I liked the prospect of aliens. lol
Actually, prior to season 5, I'd only seen one episode that I HAVEN'T SEEN SINCE! *ahem* Then my 7th grade English teacher, Mr. Schafer, was a total X-Phile. And for some reason, he couldn't watch the show when it was on, so he taped it. And when that happened, he'd arrange our schedule so that we had a free day to do proofreading or editing of our stories (we did a lot of creative writing b/c he was AWESOME), and he'd watch the new episode. We were allowed to do three things: proofread/edit, watch, or read, but it had to be quiet so he could hear LOL. So leading up to the (first OMGsquee) movie, I got hooked. Hard. I stayed b/c Mulder and Scully are made of win, the mythology was cool and consistant, the funny eps were GREAT, and the Gunmen made me want to hug them. A lot.
4. What is your biggest achievement so far?
Having Luke. He far surpasses graduating college. Hell, I graduated college BECAUSE of him, not in spite of him.
5. Do you think you'd watch House if House became nice? Why/why not?
I don't think so. I've never seen snark so well personified. :D Of course, sometimes he's just downright cruel (not so much the first season, but it seems like the writers like to take out their bitterness about life in general, and sometimes get carried away b/c people liked it) and Mean!House isn't as fun as Snarky!House.
Tomorrow is my last full day in B'wine. *le sigh* Craziness. And of course Luke took two hours to get down tonight, which TOTALLY messed up my packing plans. *yanks hair*
My Dad came and got a huge load today (brought the work trailer and everything. And we needed it) and is coming back for more tomorrow. I need to finish the back room, haul garbage, garbage and more garbage out to the dumpster and box up my kitchen stuff, mostly.
After Dad goes back down again, I'll be left with the bare minimum of stuff. Luke and I will go swimming and play a lot, I'll bid my nice happy wireless connection goodbye, and Monday morning, my dad will come back. The crib, my mattress, the high chair, overnight bags, the microwave, and the rest of the food will all be packed up along with Luke, Ron, Riley and I. And we'll be gone.
Eep.
I hope tomorrow goes better then today, though. Luke was whining b/c he was either strapped into the high chair or in the crib (he kept trying to get underfoot or out the door, neither of which are of the good) and Riley was acting like she was having her leg cut off with a rusty saw b/c she was shut in the bathroom. For the same reason as Luke.
We're staying as long as we are b/c there's nothing to do with Riley until her new owner comes to get her on Monday. No one can keep her for us, so I'm staying up here simply in order to have her.
