Clambering deeper into the debt hole.

So yesterday, I drove to work and everything was fine. Then, about an hour after getting to work, Val comes up to me and says that my tire's flat. I'm like "Oh crap. I can't afford a tire right now." So, I go out and look, and sure enough, the rim of the tire is only like an inch off the ground. David gave me this weird stuff in a can, that's supposed to fill the tire and then seal the hole, so I did that on my break. Took forever, 'cuz I had to get the rusty old hubcap off in order to reach the hose on the tire. So, it seemed to work and everything was fine. After work, though, I noticed the tire seemed low again.

So, I drove out to Walmart. They said they would have the tire patched in 40 minutes. I wandered around the store and looked at the electronics and stuff and then came back about 45 minutes later. When nobody came, I sat in the waiting room. For almost another full hour. Then the guy comes in and tells me that the car hadn't even been serviced yet because they couldn't find the keys earlier, and they had just found them now. I'm slightly annoyed at this point, but if you know me, it takes a lot to get me angry. So, I let it go. I wait half an hour more before they even pull my car into the shop. About 15 minutes later, they tell me that I have to replace the tire because the nail they found in it was too close to the sidewall. By this time I'm thinking, "OK, I've waited for 2 full hours for them to tell me that I have to replace the god-damn tire. I could have done it myself in like half an hour."

So, 2 1/2 hours later, I finally drive off, about $50 poorer. If this new tire pops, I'm gonna be pissed. I'm already pissed off about the service I got. I mean, over 2 hours?! There were only 2 other cars in the shop, and 3 mechanics there. Why couldn't they have finished it sooner? So, I didn't get home last night until 11:30, since I had several other things to do before coming home. And, I had to work the this morning too. Grar!

Huh. At least the baby Emerald Swifts at work are soooo CUTE! Think about the lizards, Denae. Think about the lizards.
