"I'll be in in a minute, I have to finish this," he dipped his quill and began scratching away again.
Hawke dropped her hand from his shoulder. "Well, when you want breakfast, you can get it from Orana, I'll probably already be gone," she informed him briskly, and he made a sound of curiosity, looking out the window.
"Breakfast? What time is it?"
She frowned. "I fell asleep waiting for you to come to bed."
He looked down at the latest draft of his manifesto. "Oh."
She walked back to him, draping her arms around his neck and kissing below his ear. "There's still time left to make it up to me," she murmured and he sighed. He took one of her hands in his and pressed it to his lips.
"I'll be to bed soon, I promise," he said softly, and she drew her arms away from him.
He didn't even seem to notice.

The girl is beautiful. She has long, vibrant gold hair and her mother's proud gray eyes. She's a happy child, always smiling, a sort of careless comfort that reminds the spirit distinctly of Anders from before they merged.
It's only when the light spark of magic flows from her fingertips that Vengeance considers her his heir. Anders's heir, yes, but never his. Not until now.
When Anders leaves for his Calling, Vengeance does not fear death. He has already found another host, willing and waiting for him, the soft pitter patter of a young girl who knows nothing of justice, of revenge.
Stories never told jakiaApril 14 2011, 15:04:24 UTC
There are some stories Varric never tells Cassandra.
How he lost a bet with Isabela once and had to dress in drag for an entire day.
How he was the first one to notice when Anders's began to lose control, and how he ought to have done something.
How he carried Merrill back home after she drank too much and stayed with her the entire night after Marathari died.
Or how he held Hawke, one hand in her hair as she cried against him the entire night, and once she fell asleep he stayed behind, watching over her, constantly vigilant, or how a sudden pain in his chest erupted when Anders showed up and whispered I'll take it from here.
No, Cassandra didn't need to know that.

The thing Fenris misses most from TevinterarysaniApril 14 2011, 15:31:53 UTC
It's colder in Kirkwall, with the wind coming in off the water. It also smells like fish, and that's a smell he could do without. Kirkwall is his home now, better or worse, and he never thought he'd say it, but he misses the Imperium sometimes. There was a spice in some of the rice dishes that smelled sharp and always made him choke when he bit down on it. There was a plant in nearly all the soups, fragrant and strong, that could cure almost any congestion.
It seems strange to miss the tastes, the smells, of a place that holds so many bad memories. But when he goes to sleep at night, freedom is lonely, and that is the only place he really remembers.
Prompts: -"this place is a zoo!" -"I don't like that look on your face..." -"That stain is *never* going to come out..."
One of your prompts sprang a crack!fic idea that will totally NOT work in 100 words...so I'm going to go off and write it and post later at some point. :)

"Have a seat, Warden."
"Don't mind if I do," Alistair pulled out a chair and nodded to the serving girl, who set two tankards in front of them.
"So, single-combat with the Arishok, eh? I'm impressed."
"This coming from a man who helped slay the archdemon and kills darkspawn on a regular basis, I'm honored," she raised her mug to his, clonking them together before she took a gulp of the frothy beverage.
"I suppose we'll just have to agree that we're both incredibly talented and gorgeous people," Alistair offered with a shrug. "Otherwise we'll be here all night with the 'no you're amazing' and 'no you're amazing'," he lifted his voice the second time, presumably to mimic her and she had to smile

NSFWish. Sort of. Barely. "yeah he's holding her in his arms (etc)"lilchickadeeApril 14 2011, 16:24:20 UTC
Hot damn. 100 words? Bah.
Also, I suck at html. And remembering warnings.
Fenris watched the two of them from over his hand of cards. He couldn't help it. He was doomed to watch her, it seemed.
She stood chatting at the bar with Sebastian. She reached out and laid a hand briefly on Sebastian's forearm as she made a point and Fenris had to fight the urge to grit his teeth. Hawke had always seemed to need touch. She was always touching. He hadn't understood it years ago. He still didn't understand it. Not after years of wanting her, desiring her. Not even after a night in her bed.
What he did know was that he couldn't fulfill that need for her, no matter how badly a part of him ached to. Not after all that had passed between them. Not after he had left her, unsure of his own desires, his own needs.
Especially not after
her fingers tracing his markings
his hand sliding up the inside of her thigh
her nails leaving thin red trails of fire up his back
his face pressed into the crook of her neckWell. Not now. He shifted in his seat

"Women never tire of hearing of exes, I assure you, your Majesty."
"Yes, well, it was meant as a compliment, but please, continue to mock me."
"I have to find some way to distinguish myself from the masses, and I find that most are not brave or stupid enough to tease those in power."
"Then there must be something about me that screams 'Please, pretty women, mock me endlessly.'"
"Are you trying to compliment me again?"
"Perhaps."
"You know, this staff isn't for show."
"The Divine is already about to march on my country, flirting with apostates is likely the least sacrilegious thing I've done at this point."
"I just meant that you might want to get better at it, otherwise I might see fit to knock you on the head."
