Love this. I had to go back and reread the thing I wrote, this ties in perfectly. Kaylee's voice was great, and you already know how much I love Zoe and Wash's story. (There's another fic you should write!)

I said to myself, "I've got a lot of the flist to catch up on today, and really Firefly isn't my fandom, and it's-- well, it's-- you know, het. Even if I do sometimes want to rip off Simon's waistcoat though what I haven't figured out is whether I want the waistcoat or the man."

And then some part of my brain, the sensible, helpful part, managed to get a word in edgeways and say, "look at the address bar again, will you? Re-read that author intro." And then it grabbed me by the shoulders and started shaking me in its frustration, rattling my head back and forth, "for god's sake, think, woman! It's dragojustine. She could write cereal box copy and it would be thinky, perceptive, nifty copy. THIS WOMAN COULD MAKE YOU READ CORPORATE BINGO!SPEAK."

There are times I really love my brain. Even when it sinks into incoherence under the weight of the squee.

You know, that's a startlingly difficult question, there. I was able to answer it to my own satisfaction mostly by noting that the time I wanted Simon most was when he took his shirt off... but not by as big a margin as you'd expect. *g*
