Jarvis Cocker had to deal with an over-eager stage invader during his headlining slot on the John Peel stage at Glastonbury tonight (June 27). Before the former Pulp singer played his song 'Homewrecker!' a fan managed to make his way onto the stage, sidling up to Cocker and taking to the microphone.
"Without this man, Britpop would have been shit," the reveller said. "He gave it integrity, which no-one else did."
Clearly surprised, Cocker took the man's drink off him - a bottle of champagne - and swigged from it before declaring that he had been left "embarrassed" by the encounter. The fan was then calmly removed from the stage by security, and Cocker continued uninterrupted.
I THINK I LIKE YOU, RANDOM DRUNK! Also lol oh Jarv.
Emmy the Great is playing Glastonbury this year and she'll be on the John Peel Stage today (actually, like, now, damn my lack of teleportation) so is there any chance of her being on the televised stuff or will they be too busy with actual famous people? :\
Ughhh I hate working Sundays, they're dreadful enough on their own as it is.
ETA: For the record, my Deep Thoughts On MJ's Death are basically that Joe Jackson is an abusive piece of shit and he had better not be allowed within a mile of those poor kids.
