I recently read an interesting quote in this porn spam Email. It went something like: “Nothing maddens man more than utter sanity.” That’s a pretty cool quote. I think there’s some paradoxical truth to that statement. Or… some truth to that paradoxical statement. Either way, I like it

Well, you know what they say: You can't spell "Smart" without art. And you can't spell it without Sm, either. And there's no U in Smartsy Fartsy, nor an I, which just proves my theory that everyone is dumb.

What I'm really trying to say is, I'm still waiting for porn to come out with the Super Mario Bros. Medley for a soundtrack. Now that'd be True Art.

Also, if art is truth, then truth is art, not logically, I'm just saying, that's the way it is. I don't believe everything is art, but everything can be art, because there's truth in everything. The artist's job is to see it there, and make it available to idle observers, critics, children, old people, passers-by, the birds, the bees, and Oedipus, et al. Conversely, I don't believe everything is truth, but everything can be truth, as long as it's presented or witnessed in the most lucid manner possible. Even a lie is Reality if one says, "That is a lie."

I totally get those emails too.

Well put. I tried for a good while to think of something to add to that, or even to dispute it, but nothing comes to mind. I believe you've perfectly stated the definition of art and truth -- all in one short paragraph. It makes perfect sense to me, anyway.

Aren't those emails great? A little bit of pornography, a little bit of philosophy, and a whole lot of fluorescent purples and pinks.
