[As unfortunate as this whole situation is, Japan is eager to make the best of it. All bundled up in his winter Gryffindor clothes, he makes his way into the village with no specific destination.

You could find him just about anywhere, being overly nosy and even observing people on the street and pausing to consider how they're acting. It's been so long since he's been outside in even his own country, so it's certainly a magical experience one way or the other.

He's sort of spacey though, so if you're not paying attention, chances are he's not looking the right way and will stumble into you. Followed by profuse apologies.]

[ If it makes Japan feel any better, he's not the only one wandering around a bit spaced out. And so of course, the inevitable collision happens!

Lost in his own thoughts and distracted by the strange and interesting things on display in the windows, Minato walks smack into Japan.]

A-ah, I'm sorry. Are you all right?

[asideglance]

Uwah! [He stumbles back but catches himself, raising a hand to his head and then immediately bowing at the realization of what happened.]

My sincerest apologies! Ah... I believe that should be my question. I am fine, so please do not worry.

[bluecurtains]

[Minato's somewhat formal but not quite as formal as all that. But still, if Japan's going to bow at him, Minato'll do a bit of an apologetic bow right back. He shakes his head, too.]

I'm fine. ... I guess we both weren't looking where we were going.

[asideglance]

[Japan raises himself to glance at the other.]

Ah, so it seems. ...There is much to look at here, after all.

[bluecurtains]

[He nods and looks back at the windows for a moment before returning his attention to the other.]

There is. It's very different from any place I've lived before.

[asideglance]

So you have been brought here as well? [Against your will is implied, but Japan seems to remember something and bows yet again. Smaller this time.]

Ah, I nearly forgot to introduce myself. I am Japan.

[bluecurtains]

[Another nod. And then staring, because wait what? Named after a country? He catches himself after a moment, though, and nods back.]

My name is Minato Arisato. Um... Pleased to meet you.

But... you're named Japan...?

[asideglance]

It's a pleasure... [He trails off when he realizes there's a bit of confusion, and simple folds his arms together in front of him with a nod.]

Ah, yes, that is who I am. [He's not sure how to address it. It's not often that he has to explain it to begin with, not to mention he was just in seclusion for at least two centuries... Hm. Maybe his wording was clear enough.]

[bluecurtains]

I'm sorry. It is -- just unexpected to find someone named Japan, because that is the name of the country I am from.

[Clearly Minato is unfamiliar with Hetalia.]

[asideglance]

[There's a sympathetic sort of glance.]

Forgive me for not being clear... [And he'll try to fix it like so:] Minato-san is a citizen of mine, then?

[A citizen of...? Oh. Oh. His eyes widen a bit, though after a moment he supposes it's probably not that weird for a country to become personified. After all, he's encountered manifestations of emotion and death and so forth before, so who was to say other normally intangible things couldn't become tangible, as it were?]

... Yes. I am. My apologies. I did not realize it was possible to, um... meet one's country.

[asideglance]

There is no need to worry. Ah, I do not believe too many stop to think about it...

[Maybe it's a weird answer, but he doesn't seem to think so. He glances at a nearby shop.]

How long has Minato-san been here, if I may ask?

Only two days. What about Japan-sama? [He does hesitate a bit over the name, because he's really unsure quite how one goes about addressing a country.]

[asideglance]

[He sideglances at that title.]

There is no need to be so formal. [Though he kind of likes it, so he won't say that twice. But either way, hmmm.]

I arrived on the 9th.

[bluecurtains]

[Well in that case, Japan-kun. :|]

Mm. [He nods and hesitates again before deciding to ask directly.] How would you most prefer to be addressed?

... I see. So it has not been very long for you, either.
