Oct. 22 - Late Evening - Gryffindor Common Room

[ As the lower levels are shut down, Hufflepuff students will be given sleeping bags in order spend the night in Common Room of the Gryffindor Tower.

A small reminder: If boys try to sneak their way into the girls' rooms, they'll find themselves sliding down a makeshift slide as the steps up to the rooms shift underneath them, sending them back down to the Common Room! ]

[Okay it hasn't been that long and already shit is happening. A hero move would be going out and helping to do something, probably a move Egbert would pull, after all he's the hero guy. Strider here isn't so there's no real need. If asked he'll just shrug his shoulders at the commotions, no big deal. Very deep down though he's wondering how a certain ectosis and troll are handling in the other tower.

Not that he's worried mind you, they can handle and look after themselves. For a brief moment the Gryffindor student leaves his room to enter the Common Room, sparing a glance around until the entrance.

... Whatever. This shit will blow over.]

[There's that blonde boy by the portrait entrance, looking rather sulky with his arms crossed. It's stupid, he thinks, that he's trained in fighting things just as bad as these, which eat hearts and shoot flames, and they took away his weapon so he can't help.

And he knows Axel isn't going to let him leave. He's already tried twice.

Now, he's pouting (only a little) and keeping watch over the other students, ready to defend... the portrait-hole, should any get up here. He doesn't know what to do, if he can't go help. Shifting from foot to foot, he looks nervous and anxious and upset]

[ There's a glance spared over to the kid, reading the body language from behind dark shades but not making any attempt to move over in his direction. They talked once, the fact he didn't question his "name" showed that the guy might be a bit gullible. That or naive. Either way it's a familiar trait, and being that Dave Strider didn't have anything better to do his feet began to move.

He stops a couple feet nearby, closer to the portrait entrance now and tilts his head ever so slightly. It looks as though he's staring at the entrance, but hidden eyes actually shift to glance back in the boy's direction.]

You're, um. [Slim... Shady? He thinks? He's wearing shades. It would make sense, except he probably wasn't when he was named.

Roxas is really bad at this. He'll just nod at him instead] Hi.

Dave Strider. [He takes to responding amidst the pause, yep he basically lied before though he didn't expect him to believe him. 'Sides he was gonna find out soon enough in class.

There's a small moment of silence between them, that is till he tilts his head towards the entrance.] You've been sitting here like some abandoned pup left in the shitty rain to stake out alone.

...you... said something different before. [Roxas is giving him a very strange look now, torn between believing him and thoroughly distrusting him] And Axel won't let me leave to go help fight those things, so I'm waiting here to help anyone who comes in. [And pining. Definitely the pining]

It's called a joke. [Yep. Not gonna add the fact he didn't expect him to believe him. Just shrugs it off like nothing, pausing after to quirk an eyebrow for a moment.] Really. Cause it looks like you're just moping around, seconds from flinging yourself out the portrait.

I can't. I already got dragged back over his shoulder twice. [Pout. Damn Axel for being taller than him] And I'm not moping, I'm waiting.

[hahaha he would snort and slip a laugh but he's not breaking his cool. not for this guy. might sound bemused though.]

I am not! [Roxas visibly bristles, sitting up a little straighter; there's an angry flush to his cheeks] I'm being-- smart, or something.

[here's a question for ya] And what are the people that went out to fight.

Lucky 'cause they don't have people to drag them back. [in about three seconds he is just going to get up and go anyway, just watch]

Just means you gotta be quicker. You need to make decisions for yourself sometimes. [sure, he'll just be tilting his head to eye the other house guests. clearly he didn't see anyone leaving]

I do make decisions for myself. [In fact, yeah, with an almost grateful look at Dave, though for only a second, Roxas is out the portrait hole.]
