UPDATE UPDATE!
Hey everyone! We've got a few announcements.
01: It is our regret to announce that head-mod, Em, is stepping down from mod duties. She's a little overwhelmed with RL stuff at the moment, and since your other mods (Hales and Lina) would like to keep the game running, we're looking for some extra help. Basically, we need two mods for updating lists and discussing events. Likewise, with apps opening soon, we're looking for a few volunteers to help judge apps. If you're interested in either position, please check out this post!
02: A bit of information regarding Dumbledore's presence in the castle. With Em stepping down, we no longer have someone to NPC Dumbledore (at the present, this may change in the future). What this means for the game is that Dumbledore will be inaccessible by both staff and students alike. While he's at the school, he'll be locked away in his office, searching for a way to reverse the spell that's brought in all the Magic Drafted. When he isn't, he's outside the country, looking for more answers.
03: Core posts are slowly being reworked to ensure better understanding of the rules, FAQ, and other information. And we hope to have a navigation bar open soon to make it easier to move between posts!
04: Because the game just opened and we know a lot of people are still settling in, the AC Check will happen later this month, so you get a free slide this month! Please remember to check the AC Requirements and fill them by November 25th, because that's when the first AC will go up!
05: The main event will come later this month, but for the time being, there's a few things that will be going on around the castle!
(06th.) - Starting the 6th, the weather around the castle will begin to grow cooler. A mist can be seen hanging over the Forbidden Forest from the western side of the castle. Indoors, students and staff are encouraged to dress warmer. The house elves will be doing their best to keep the fires going, but once in a while, individuals may find the fire in their dorms have been snuffed out!
(09th.) - With the change in the weather will come a change in the disposition of the castle ghosts. They will seem much colder to people in general and less likely to talk. What's more, Peeves the Poltergeist will be more raucous than usual! Be careful not to be caught by him, because he'll be sure to make things difficult for you!
(12th.) - When castle residents wake up in the morning, they'll find the ground covered with a fine layer of snow. Not too deep! Just an inch or so. But more importantly, it'll seem like the heavy fog that's covered the Forbidden Forest will be creeping closer to the castle. Inside, residents will begin to feel a bit uncomfortable, as if the cold is beginning to seep into their bones. Everyone, be they student or staff, will begin to feel very tired, as if they aren't getting enough sleep.
