Hmm... the whole Odin-Heero/Zechs/Duo triangle... (I was thinking about this earlier whilst plot bunnies ran wild, before deciding that I wouldn't be able to write anything semi-plausible before I got around to finally watching Endless-Waltz.)

*puts on thinking cap*

He'd probably at the onset go make sure things were taken care of--Zechs/Duo's hospitalization. for example--and then I think he'd go off and seclude himself until he could get ahold of his new status/situation... get a hold of his new powers (I'm assuming he has some) and what not. My one thing is... if he's a Star, doesn't that mean he likely has "one mate" like Usagi? (Unless that's only a Lunarian trait, but since Endymion's affected too, I'd assume not) Which means to me it's likely neither Duo nor Zechs would be that one person. If both have survived, then I don't see how a happy ending could be possible--I don't think it'd be possible for them to split again, it almost seems like a cop-out--and I think that he'd sooner not be with either than be with both; he's got a powerful sense of honor. Duo and Zechs aren't overly fond of each other, I believe, and so I doubt they'd be willing to share. In a situation such as this, I'd think Heero would start his repressing his emotions once more and since he wouldn't be able to choose between the two, he'd rather hurt both somewhat then devastate one to make the other happy.

(And then run away screaming should Relena show up to pester him...*shudder* that girl was beyond freakishly annoying--my friend and I watched the series last year praying every episode she'd get killed.)

On the other hand, should he have to choose one... Zech's experiences as an aristocrat of sorts might be helpful in him trying to organize and stabilize his new realm, and his political connections would help immensely in trying to put things into order once more and handle hysteria, and his background would make other leaders more likely to trust him; on the other hand, Duo's got good common-people-sense-and-charisma--he's good at making friends with the average person, which Zechs is not--he strikes people as a leader, not a fellow person. Duo would help calm the average citizen much better, I think. So either would be equally useful, just in different ways.

Gah, I hadn't realised it as almost 12 months since I'd started making replies... I apologise.

Anyway, soulmates generally only happen to those individuals who have evolved spiritually (physically and mentally too I guess) past a certain point. Humans generally aren't at that level (Hence the big deal about one of them one day being the mate of a Lunarian). Endymion isn't an exception, he was just never human (more than half fae) and he becomes less so as he turns into a star.

Heero was human but isn't anymore. It's possible that somewhere out there someone exists that is his perfect counterpart, or not. There is no guarantee of that though. Those individuals that have the potential to match him might never reach that level to equal him or they might. It might not happen for a 1000 years. It doesn't really matter though. The reason it's been a big deal so far is because we've been dealing with Lunarians who are highly evolved (comparatively speaking) and though they may have several great loves in their lives, they can only have children with a soul mate. In Usagi's case her options have dwindled so that her first will be her only but that's a consequence of her choice. Had she chosen otherwise at an earlier age, it's entirely possible Endymion would have had to really fight to win her.

What this means in regards to Heero/Odin is that while he may or may not have a soulmate at the moment, neither Duo or Milliardo are his 'one and only'. Not now and probably (odds being what they are) not ever.

The realms will be split apart again which means they'll each be in a different realm so, should they share, they'll never have it flaunted in front of them but they'll know. Like you said, I don't think they'd share. (I think I'll use the fact that they're likely the only mortal in each of their respective realms to know to make them into the leaders that rebuild their worlds - Zechs the 'His majesty the great' and Duo the 'president of the people').

Heero won't work in the open. He'll protect his realms from the shadows which means he's probably going to disappear again, although whether he'll tell his two lovers... it's always possible they'll think he dies... Still doesn't make for a happy ending though, does it?

Would you like me to make it that Relena was one of the people who touched their twin and was destroyed?
