this ficlet was written as a birthday gift for my fellow Questie, beta goddess and dear friend, Darkin. it has shades of Nathan/Kristin for my fellow shippers, but is mostly family-fluff.

it is also a part of the Darkest Hour plot/timeline. to put a tentative date on it, i'd say spring 2022.
