I talked to the landlord of the place next door again today. He thanked me for of all things "being a pest" about the apartment. It's true though, I do not give up easily on things that I want. I spoke to the landlord of the place I want to rent... It's an older house and needs some work but its a nice place. I could do good things with decorating it. *sigh* I'm not sure I want to pay $450 a month for it though.
